LICENSE LOST
So I'm going through my third state of the day yesterday (MI) and a highway patrol man pulls me over. At first he's very annoyed by my BC registration and license. He writes up the ticket and tells me since I'm out of state I have three options.
1. Cash deposit of $100;
2. Bondable credit card; or
3. License confiscation.
After asking what the hell a bonded credit card was I told him I didn't have any cash. So he handed me my ticket and registration and told me I'd get my license back when I paid the ticket. $100US for 75 in 55 mile.
This left me bitter for a couple more hours but I drove on .... and on ...
I crossed over to Sault St Marie around 2:30am and kept driving until my eyes started shutting themselves. I took a 1 hour repose on the side of the road and then got right back to it. I arrived in Oakville at 12:00am ET this morning.
So all in all not too bad; Van to Oakville in 76 hours.
... and as I watched the sun rise this morning over Blind River I gave the Focus a loving pat as I lipsynced this song:

We've been through
some things together
With trunks of memories
still to come
We found things to do
in stormy weather
Long may you run.
Long may you run.
Long may you run.
Although these changes
have come
With your chrome heart shining
in the sun
Long may you run.
Well, it was
back in Blind River in 1962
When I last saw you alive
But we missed that shift
on the long decline
Long may you run.
Long may you run.
Long may you run.
Although these changes
have come
With your chrome heart shining
in the sun
Long may you run.
Maybe The Beach Boys
have got you now
With those waves
singing "Caroline No"
Rollin' down
that empty ocean road
Gettin' to the surf on time.
Long may you run.
Long may you run.
Although these changes
have come
With your chrome heart shining
in the sun
Long may you run.
