SWIMMING

Went swimming today … for about 15 minutes. Swimming is hard (he remarked articulately) and doesn’t help when you forget your goggles in the locker.

I tried freestyle but I fool only myself into thinking I can do it. I have all my coloured badges and a life saving one as well and yet I don’t differ from the head above water breast stroke that has served so well through the years.

I’ve been told to post on this site but really I have little to say. Things are great. If I haven’t talked to you lately give me a holler!

PARIS TO CAIRO

The foundation of my spring travel plans is being laid. Visit a friend on Paris and then it's straight down to Morocco.

SNOWBOARDING!

I went up snowboarding for the first time yesterday. It snowed like mad the entire day and the picture below was taken at one of the calmer parts of the day. I need to get back into it. After only a portion of the day spent snowbaording I'm now hobbling around like an old man. I can't wait until the rest of the mountain is open. I just hope the snow keeps up.

On the way up I got so excited about the snow. It's the same first day feeling I've had since I was 9 years old. Just seeing and touching snow is so exciting! Posted by Picasa

WHEN THE MOON HITS YOUR EYE LIKE A ....

1 Cup lukewarm water
1 tsp sugar
1 pkg granular yeast
1 tsp salt
1/4 Cup cooking oil
1 3/4 Cup sifted all purpose flour
1 Cup whole wheat flour

Add the 1 tsp sugar to the 1 Cup lukewarm water in a large mixing bowl and sprinkle yeast over top, give it one stir and let soak for 10 minutes. Then add the salt and oil and all but 1/4 Cup of the flour. Mix as well as you can, then turn out on a board floured with the remaining 1/4 Cup four and knead 100 times. Return to greased bowl. Cover and let rise until doubled. Punch down and with floured hands divide into 2 balls. Have ready to 15" pizza pans and on each press a ball of dough with palms to form a very thin uniform circle 12" in diameter, slightly thicker at edges.

Top as desired but take care to not over sauce or top as the dough will not cook through. Bake at 400 about 25 to 30 minutes until dough is well baked at the bottom, cheese is melted and top is bubbling hot. Serve at once!
