DECEMBER 25, 2006

It was a mild Christmas this year on Clear Lake. So mild in fact that not even a soupconne of ice was present on the surface of the lake. So the Topping boys and I decided to go for a Christmas swim.

The Turkey came later ...

Christmas Has Arrived!

Are they gigantic presents or is it a tiny tree?

Jake in Thailand

Jake is in Thailand right now and sends pictures now and then to remind me that Kingston is not all that great. No monkeys, no tropical waters and no palms, I'm here, with my shirt, paying dollars for beer instead of baht.

Merry Christmas

I’m very happy to have the next three weeks off. I get to sleep in, relax, eat and generally be merry.

My parents are coming to Ontario for Christmas this year so I just have to commute to Peterborough to meet them.

Rachel and I went to Toronto on the weekend to do some Christmas shopping. Saturday night we went to Myth in Greektown for dinner. As we were leaving the band came on and began playing Greek rock hits with way too much feedback. Lately we've been getting ID'd way more than ever before. Our Greek waiter was suspicious from the moment I explained that Rachel would be ordering the food instead of me.

On Sunday we went back to the mall to do a little more shopping where I saw a demonstration of the Nintendo Wii. It looks really fun and I hope some of my cousins get it for Christmas so I can play. Virtual tennis, yes please!

The T. trip ended with a trip to a new beer house for some pretzels and pints. Toronto has grown on me, it has many heighborhoods that need exploring. The subway gives you the freedom to explore on foot and pop up wherever you like.
